NEW YORK'S BLOOMING COLORS

It's time to sing of the flowers, the colors that bloom in the Spring pouring forth rainbow
showers, a delight to our eyes by the hours. "Dream in Color," at Macy's, "So Much Spring" in The
New York Botanical Garden, see Roxy Paine on the Roof at the Met, and join the BIG READ to
find out "How to Get Lost in Washington Square." Here's the scoop!!!

Five fabulous specialty gardens blossom on Macy's main floor so don't miss a blooming thing.
Visit Paradise tropicals, Woodland annuals, The Pink Garden, Flamingo topiaries and New York's
own Community gardens among 11 different garden environments. FREE Tours every half hour
between 11-4pm.  Discover how to make unique cakes, view the Floral Tablescapes, enjoy the

The New York Botanical Garden heralds the new season with "So Much Spring," a
color-kaleidoscope of attractions through June 1 in the Gardens 250-acre landscape. A new
flower show in the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory, a newly planted Seasonal Walk. A plethora of
demonstrations, workshops and more to titillate with color sensations including The Glory of Dutch
Bulbs, The Greatest Botanical Artist of the 1700s, Georg Ehret, and waves of color in the Rock

Weather permitting but Spring showers won't dampen our spirits. See American artist, "Roxy
Paine on the Roof: Maelstrom" a 130-foot-long by 45-foot-wide stainless-steel sculpture on the
Museum's Iris and b. Gerald Cantor Roof Garden.  Set against Central Park and its architectural
backdrop, the installation explores the interplay between the natural world and the built
environment amid nature's inherently chaotic processes. Immersing viewers in what seems to be a
cataclysmic force of nature invokes Paine's largest and most ambitious work to date. Apr 28-Oct
25. Beverage and sandwich service available on the roof 10am to closing including Friday and
Saturday evenings. Metropolitan Museum of Art, l000 Fifth Ave. Suggested Admission.
